questns.gif

I have met a lot of people since I started blogging last summer. I have friends all over the country and beyond now! That is so cool!

I was thinking about you all tonight and I’d really love to get to know you a little better. Vinny is doing this on his blog…kind of…except he made it all about himself – “Ooooo, ask me questions about ME.”  😆

So I wanta spend this week getting to know you more by asking you all random questions.

Here we go…

When did you start blogging?

Why do you blog?

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I started blogging year ago…I started because I was fed up with how the enemy uses the internet for his own gain and destroys families, so since my God is bigger and stronger, why not fill the internet with HIM.

My favorite thing about blogging is..the people I have got to know through it, the encouragement I recieve, and the beauty of God to place so many all around the world all in filtrating the enemies turf. I love what God is doing in blog land! (But my most favorite is God bonding hearts together -Love you!)

oooh I love being interviewed! lol

    *ahem*

    WHEN DID YOU START BLOGGING?
You mean, when did I officially start, or when did I actually stick to it? lol I started officially one dry day many moons ago…. ok, well, about two years ago…. tried my hand at MSN Live Spaces. I didn’t have a purpose, was just ‘trying a ting’ as we say here in Barbados (hence the blog name – Ramblings.) Even then, I was telling people about the things God was doing in my life, but … I didn’t have any motivation. MSN Live Spaces doesn’t have many advantages to me – you can’t be alerted if anyone comments on the blog – in fact it felt like I was speaking into a vacuum, so I gave it up.

My spiritual dad (http://barbadosbilbo.wordpress.com) started his own blog, last year – and then a couple other people from church, so I checked out WordPress – and it had everything I wanted: ease of adding new posts, the ability to be notified if someone responded – and BLOG STATS (that’s what made me stick to it)

    WHY DO YOU BLOG?
Coz I love to talk, and my blog is an outlet for my verbose mind…. lol… nah, actually, this time I have a purpose: my blog is called The Hand of God and I use it to chronicle my walk with the LORD and testify of what he’s doing in my life. For example, through my blog, I’ve chronicled testimonies of prophetic words that have touched people’s lives and even posted a couple general prophetic words for the wider Body of Christ. I blog because I love GOD with ALLLLLLLLLL (x infinity!)
my entire being and I just love to see him work. I blog because through it, I’ve met some wonderful people (wave to Darla and you, Tam 😀 – I’m still meeting ppl here, so don’t feel bad I haven’t called your name yet 😉 ) I blog, therefore I am….

WHAT DO YOU LOVE THE MOST ABOUT BLOGGING?
    * Seeing people transformed by the testimony of the Lord – “the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy”, I think the word says…
    * Meeting people from all over the world
*Seeing my blog stats rise lol

    ANY FINAL THOUGHTS?
Hmm…. To boldly blog what noone has blogged before!

  7. March 3, 2008 4:36 am

    When did you start blogging?
    In ’06

    Why do you blog?
To help remember the day to day goings on of my kids and also to keep friends and family far away updated on our lives.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
All the new people I have met along the way

  8. March 3, 2008 4:58 am

When: July 2006 (started leaving comments)
own blog site – December 2007.

Why: Started to watch friends lives who were world wide travelers

What: I like to “share” my life and be involved with others lives.

  9. March 3, 2008 5:42 am

WHEN? like june of ’07… so maybe 8 months? right before you started.

WHY? i needed a reason to get out of bed. srsly. never admitted that to anyone other than drew and the BFFs. so there it is.

WHAT? whatever. just posted about that this morning….

love ya! its time for a vacay to the East Coast for y’all!! pack the kids: niagara falls, NYC, Boston, Plymouth Rock, Salem, c’mon….

  10. March 3, 2008 5:59 am

When: Technically, I started blogging in February last year but I did not really get into it until September.

Why: I am a bit edgier than most of the Christians in my church… similar to someone else we know. One friend after reading my blog commented in person on a Sunday, “You are complex.” You know how Christians have a funny way of saying “I don’t much like your stuff” ?

So blogging gives me and “my stuff” a broader audience, many of whom get me. I need to hear reactions to my writing and my thoughts to hone my writing and my thoughts. All the people I’ve met thought my blog have helped me in one way or many.

What: Poetry about mercy and love.

  11. March 3, 2008 6:57 am

bajan-you are making me laugh so hard..I can hear the accent of Barbados in your writing…jus a ting mon!

Second to Mandy’s vacation comment! See I am commenting on your post! 😉

  13. March 3, 2008 9:52 am

    I started blogging last summer.

The reason I started is that my parents kept complaining about the amount of email they received containing pictures. I set up the blog in hopes that they would catch on to looking at it. No such luck, I still have to email them each time there is a new post.

The best thing about blogging is reading everyone elses. I am a single mom of a 3 and 2 year old. My mind is pretty much mush. I am in awe of the thoughts you are have.

  16. March 3, 2008 1:08 pm

    When did you start blogging?
    dec 06
    Why do you blog?
because i was led away from teaching in the singles ministry and i taught for 7 years and I need an outlet to share what I am learning even if no one cares.
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
the connections with other believers and the encouragement!

  17. March 3, 2008 2:37 pm

    When did you start blogging?
I think my first official post is dated sometime in May 2007. But I was blogging way before blogging was a word.

    Why do you blog?
I, 100%, agree with what Darla said in that the Internet is used for such vile and evil purposes that you have got to step into this world, salt it and light it for His glory. I should know: I used to work in the pornography industry.

But I don’t blog because I feel guilty or ashame of my past and somehow I need to make up for it. I blog because I would be absolutely remiss if I did not journal and document the transformation that God has done in my life.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
My favorite thing: is since that transformation in April 2007, my life has absolutely never been better. Because God is in complete control of my life and will, time has slowed down to a snail’s pace. Because I blog out my life, I can fully appreciate the lessons, blessings and miracles that have gone on in my life.

In other words, my New Year’s is not January 1. When 2008 came, I didn’t want to begin a new or wanted to kick some habits, I wanted God to continue do the work He started in me. Every day is a new day and months and years don’t mean much to me.

  18. March 3, 2008 3:45 pm

    When did I start blogging?

    April 2007

    Why do I blog?

It is a great medium for venting, sharing, conversing, keeping memories, laughing, influencing, and expressing my love for God.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

People that I do not even know commenting on my posts (like Tam!). It is so cool to know that I have people reading my words all over the country.

  19. March 3, 2008 3:50 pm

When did you start blogging? Fall of 2007

Why do you blog? For a positive internet experience

What is your favorite thing about blogging? The Honesty

The world needs more honesty 😯

  20. March 3, 2008 3:57 pm

Hello, my name is Carrie, and I’m a blogaholic. I really need help. I cannot stop this madness that is blogging.

But really for me blogging is a way to keep my writing skillz funky fresh while I wait for my youngest gremlin to get old enough to allow me to finish the book I’m writing. Plus a blog format provides a perfect medium for getting my quirky thoughts out. It’s an amazement and an astonishment that anyone would want to read such nonsense, but the more the merrier.

Oh yeah, and I’ve been blogging for about a year and a half.

  21. March 3, 2008 5:08 pm

I was telling my story in other peoples blogs, like yours Tam, so I decided it was only fair to start my own blog.

Learning about how other people think and making friends.

Much of what we think we know about the people of other races, religions and countries is second hand, mostly what we read in the newspaper, television and what other people have told us. It becomes easy to see where “they” are different from “us”.

Once we actually start talking to one another we learn that we have much we have in common, then we have differences.

I have made friends from England, Australia and all over the world, including that country know as the “West Coast”. 🙂

  22. March 3, 2008 6:24 pm

ED is so right on. He can keep the cats though!

  23. March 3, 2008 6:41 pm

    When did you start blogging?

I don’t feel like I’ve really started yet – still trying to get into the swing of things.

    Why do you blog?

    Somebody has to say it.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

Connecting with new people all over the planet that may have something to teach me, or I them.

  24. March 3, 2008 7:27 pm

    When did you start blogging?
I started over at blogspot the end of june ’07. I think i came over to WordPress in October? Not sure!

    Why do you blog?
At first I started because Vinny had one. At first I teased him about doing it – then he started telling me about all the people he was meeting and it sounded like fun.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Now that I’ve been doing it for a little bit my favorite thing has been all of you. My eyes see much clearer now. I am less prone to judge a book by its cover now. I have met people and become friends with people I would have normally never crossed paths with. And I am better because of it! I share God on this blog as much as I do in person. He is like one of my limbs, the air I breathe, it’s just natural to me. But the blog has been even a greater outlet to put everything out there without having to get permission or asked to…I’m just free to be me, all of me, and you can be a part of it or not. I think we all need that!

  25. March 3, 2008 8:45 pm

    Love this!!

    When did you start blogging?
I dabbled with one back in early 2007, but seriously sat down with one in June or July ’07.

    Why do you blog?
It’s cheaper than therapy 🙂 Seriously, I love meeting the people and getting to read their journey’s and hear their heartbeat!

What if your favorite thing about blogging?
Again the people, but just the creativity behind everyone’s daily posts.

  26. March 3, 2008 10:08 pm

    When did you start blogging?
I started my blog on Feb 29, 08. I’ve been reading for about a year.

    Why do you blog?
I couldn’t stand not participating any longer.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
The relationships that grow. Sharing the Lord with so many people. Learning from so many people.

  27. March 3, 2008 11:54 pm

When did you start blogging? When we came to Mexico in 2007

Why do you blog? To share our ministry, and to keep family posted on what we’re upto.

What is your favorite thing about blogging? The fact that you can look back on those “Red Sea Moments” when God did something amazing.

To reach out to others through the power of the written word.
To see the impact it has on others lives.

  31. March 4, 2008 12:18 pm

Well, there’s a Part I and Part II to this story, with different answers, so I’ll do two separate sets of answers:

    When did you start blogging?
    Almost three years ago

    Why do you blog?
To keep my family and friends up to date with my life–and share photos–when I was living overseas, and then to keep my overseas friends up to date when I moved back to the U.S.!

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
    Getting comments 🙂

    Part II
    When did you start blogging?
I started my “Great Adventure” blog as a more anonymous blog (only TJ, one of my best friends, and my little sister know about it; the rest of my readers are people I haven’t met IRL) on May 31, 2007.

    Why do you blog?
I was processing a lot as I tried to adjust to my then-recent diagnosis of MS. It was hard to open up to friends and family IRL because a lot of people just gave me platitudes, which made me want to clam up. I started the blog so I could have a place to be real without worrying what my family and friends IRL were thinking of me.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Being honest … and getting comments from cool people like Tam 🙂 and getting introduced to others’ blogs when they leave comments on mine! I have learned so much from my bloggyfriends!

  32. March 4, 2008 2:01 pm

My first blog I started a year. My second blog was just started a few weeks ago.
My first blog is to share my daughter’s pictures and stories with my parents who live in MT and other friends and family far away.
I started my second blog a more personal spirtual journey journal one because a lot of my family and friends judge my new found religion and I didn’t feel I could be as free or write what was on my heart without feeling the judging coming through “computer space”
My favorite thing about blogging is sharing and learning. I love to lurk and blog hop and I love to share things about my daughter to family and friends that don’t live here. I love to journal and feel it is a good way to keep me on top of it when I know people are checking in.

I started blogging in January. I’ve had other blogs in the past, but never kept up with them. The one i have now i aim to keep.

I blog because it’s fun and something extra curricular to do that doesn’t require getting my heart rate up, plus it’s free.

My favorite thing about blogging is reading other people’s blogs. Like yours! 🙂

  35. March 5, 2008 12:01 am

    When: 2006-ish
Why: At first all the cool kids were doing it. Now it is a way to stay connected with all the people in America. It is a non-intrusive way to show what God is doing in the lives of people in Africa.
What: Making friends and talking to our family.

  36. March 5, 2008 9:36 pm

I started blogging (http://actionsspeakloudest.blogspot.com)last June because I wanted to journal my thoughts and some of what God is teaching me. Then I decided to start a second blog (http://scripture2liveby.blogspot.com/) with Scripture verses and to share the salvation plan. I love to read, so I started another blog about that same time dedicated to books that I’ve read or am reading -(http://robinsreadingroom.blogspot.com) and finally I enjoy collecting quotes and wanted a separate place to share them so I made another blog -(http://thinkonthisquotes.blogspot.com)

A dear friend of mine introduced me to blogging when she and her soon to be husband began planning their life and travels out of the country. I was actually leary of the blogging world before I became comfortable at her blog home. Then over a year later I decided to take it for a spin myself.

One of the neatest thigs about blogging is the people you “meet.” I’ve been so impressed by the compassion and kindness shown by complete strangers when a prayer request is sent out. A young boy from my church had been going through a rough time and I posted about him and have been ever since right before his brain surgery. His parents don’t have a blog and have been deeply moved by the love that has been shared through the kind people who have visited my blog.

  37. March 5, 2008 9:51 pm

I am fashionably late to the meet in greet. 😉

    When did you start blogging?
*Ummm, which time?? haha 😆 I blogged on myspace before here, and before myspace I had a blogspot one that I let go. Last summer after I had Owen, I started ANOTHER blogspot one and then switched over to worpress about a month or so ago?? Maybe not even that long ago.

    Why do you blog?
*WHY? Why not?! haha It’s fun. I like it. I’m meeting some great people and to be honest, blogs have been incredibly inspiring for me to read. They have really ministered to my heart in a great way. I find my relationship with God has really grown since blogging actually. 😀

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
*the great outlet for “creativity” if ya wanna call it that. 😉 Also, HELLO! My cool new friends. And old ones. 😉

  38. March 6, 2008 9:35 am

    1) September 2007
    2) To just learn about it.
    3) To get all the craziness out of my head 🙂

  39. March 6, 2008 10:02 am

I started blogging a few months ago. Well, on here. I have a myspace account but no one reads anything on there, people just look at the pictures. So I switched over to wordpress and now I rarely check the myspace account.

I started because I love writing.

I love that I can share deep thoughts or just funny thoughts….I can just be myself. And it’s FREE.

  40. March 7, 2008 8:12 am

    When did you start blogging?
    january 2007

    Why do you blog?
to get some creative manic stuff out of my brain. my hubby got sick of hearing me talk so i write, im not very good just say whats on my mind.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
i guess the above. to get stuff out, to see what the world thinks about, other christian people. sitting at home my world gets small, its gotten a bit bigger now.
