Who Yawns In Their Sleep? And Other Random Stuff

May 25, 2008

Brent yawns in his sleep. Isn’t that odd? I mean. You yawn because you’re tired. Um. Isn’t being asleep taking care of that?

When I’m typing and misspell something, I won’t wait until I’m completely done before I correct my mistakes. I have to go back right away to fix it. I just cannot focus if I see that red line under my oopsie. It drives me crazy!!! In fact….it has taken me 2 minutes just to write this sentence!

Brent and I were enjoying a night out with Kota after his talent show, eating at one of his favorite restaurants when out of the blue Kota asks “Mom, do you and Dad mate?” 😯 SERIOUSLY!!!

I hate ants. This is ant season. They WILL find a way into your home. We keep them out 99% of the time. But that one percent…I know it. I feel it. I sense it. I have ESAP – Extra Sensory Ant Perception. I can hear one 3 rooms away break wind. It’s a gift. If you ever need an Ant tracker, I’m your girl!

I’ve been toying with writing an “Upon my untimely death” post. Ya know…the post where I tell you all my little secrets, thoughts and true(er) 😀 feelings. Then I wondered if I really get it all out on a saved post God might call me home “sooner”. So I’ve decided against writing it after all 😀

Brent and I are planning a little fun for all of us (including you all) this week! Details to come!

We have some deeply loved blogger friends coming in less than a month now!!! I’m serious, if you guys wanta get away and hang out – we have some dates open…let us know!

    Do you and Dad MATE???

You know… i never EVER thought to ask my Mum and Dad that question! 🙂

Did you burst out loud laughing – or hold it in?

Dunno about the mate – but i’d sure love a ‘date’ 😉

I should do more than just wish, i guess!

I yawn in my sleep too. Well, that’s what my brother said when we were kids.

  5. May 26, 2008 3:54 am

Kidz ask questions I am never ready for…I would have laughed out loud and said answer him Scott. LOL

    I love randomness!

I hate ants too, and we live on a giant ant hill…I am sure…and yes there will always be that few that find thier way in….and then…they must die!

  6. May 26, 2008 4:09 am

Don’t write your secrets on a post and save it…no doubt some fluke will happen and before you know it everyone will read it and you will still be here! 😯 😆 just thinking….

  7. May 26, 2008 5:53 am

    Mate?? Holy smokes!

I’m with you on having to fix mistakes right then. There’s no way I can leave it until I’m finished typing. Not gonna happen.

  8. May 26, 2008 6:08 am

Can’t do the spelling thing either. It’s so annoying.

Latest thoughts on why we yawn: our brain is over-heating. Seriously. Check it out:

    So Brent, dude, chill out!

Mating: I never thought of asking my parents things like that. Nope, no way. But it’s a credit to you and Brent that your kids do feel comfortable enough to ask… (how did you answer?)

Ants…ewww. I heard a mouse skampering along the carpet in the guest room of my fathers house once. We were staying there and I woke my husband and said “There’s a mouse in here! Do something!!” He was quiet for a moment and said, “I don’t hear it.” I sat straight up and said in a loud irritated voice “Of course YOU don’t hear it! You can’t hear me when I’m 6 inches away! Trust me, there is a mouse in here!” He looked at me calmly and said “No, honey, you just scared it away with all that yelling.”

Darla may have a point with the untimely death post.

Checking calendar to see when I can travel…

I’m so with Mandy on this one..

What did you say? (after you swallowed your food whole, choked, giggled and gave Brent the eye and kicked him under the table)

  13. May 26, 2008 8:21 am

lol! I am pretty impressed with his choice of words. Mate is so much more conservative and non-controversial. I am curious about the answer too Tam [how you gonna post the question and not tell us the answer *humf*]

I am totally with you on the spelling/error thing. I think I’m about to type posts and comments in word so I don’t have to send the “correction” comment five seconds later.

Where do yall live? I would love to come visit you although I think I’d end up liking you and your family and where you live too much and won’t want to come back. Hmmmmm. Invitation still open? 😉

  14. May 26, 2008 9:10 am

TAM!! Are you never going to wake up! are you never going to comment?? okay I am a drama queen today..but when!?

  15. May 26, 2008 9:40 am

    what did you say?

  16. May 26, 2008 9:44 am

OK! Kota asked me the question while Brent was messing with his iPhone 🙄 I dropped my fork and asked, “What?!” HE REPEATED HIMSELF! I awkwardly say to B, cuz he didn’t hear cuz he was playing with his phone, “Um, your son wants to know when we mate” I think B said that monkeys mate and your mom and I enjoy each others company. Of course I told him we’ve mated twice (and yes, I was totally joking!)

les – we live in Southern Oregon – let me know when you can come 😀

Oh how is it that men always get away with the PAT answer. Because dogs, cats, frogs, and monkey’s do it. We us Women will have to get out the charts and diagrams!!! UGH!!

2 times?!!! ha!!! good come back.

My son Isaac who is 7, caught us (mating) let me tell you explaining that is a little more complicated.

I think Paul used the same line Brent did, monkeys do it why not?

    You know what I mean,

  18. May 26, 2008 9:58 am

    Phew. Okay.
    No wait.
    Okay I’m done I promise.

That is hilarious Tam! Thank you for a good laugh. I don’t know how I would respond to that but I totally expect hubby to have a similar response. Or give the familiar stork story LOL.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I’ve never been to Oregon. What are the seasons like? I live in MI; similar or warmer or what? Ooooo I’m excited now. How far are yall from MI? I have to sweet talk my hubby into it 😀 [This is where that darn thong may have come in handy Alece–SYKE–HAHAHAHAHAHAHA]

Someone once told me that a yawn is actually the body’s way of cooling down the mind when the brain is overheating.

If that is true, then I guess Brent is just having some really good dreams!

Of course, considering who he married and the great children they have, maybe his whole life is a dream come true! Sheesh! No wonder he yawns in his sleep! He’s LIVING the dream! 😉

  24. May 26, 2008 11:48 am

You hate ants? I wouldn’t have thought of actually listening to them.
And just to think that My girl and I completed an Ant project,,,, But I still can’t hear them!
Hey write that post after all; your life is a celebration!
    Much love.

  34. May 26, 2008 3:20 pm

Ivy – I know. When I read that you were waiting for your ants to arrive i just about died! That is some crazy living right there 😉

  35. May 26, 2008 5:19 pm

    Tam: thank you for answering.
    twice = ha!!!!!

  36. May 26, 2008 6:55 pm

Well now – Papa is scared to comment on this post. That “question” has never come up with my kiddo’s – I correct my typo’s as I go – always – then recheck.

Speaking of visiting – this past weekend I was at my high school alumni banquet – my best friend in high school, who I have not seen since 1961 I decided to track down – went and found a niece and found out he lives in Grants Pass, OR! I called him tonight! :o) Maybe I should go visit.

  37. May 27, 2008 12:49 am

was kota really satisfied with that answer?

  38. May 27, 2008 6:35 am
