Broken Chains!

June 4, 2008

As many of you know I am very passionate about helping people break the chains that bind them to their pasts. I know, first hand, how difficult and scary it can be. But it can be done.

My friend Rick @ Just Give Me Jesus has written a great post today that really moved me. Rick is a recovering sex addict on his journey to healing and restoration. His words have always humbled and inspired me. His ability to be real and say it like it is has been a testament to his determination of not wanting to go back into the pit of pornography.

Rick, I love you brother. And I am so proud of you!

Please take some time to visit Rick today and read his post. You’ll be glad you did!

    What a victory!!

This is a shh subject and he’s standing proud. He had earlier post where his cable bill was clean of any porn.

I just wanted to shake his hand and hoop and holler all at once. Because I believe Jesus did when he broke that chain,..

    Awesome story!

Mere words fail to explain how grateful I am that God has changed my story to one people can actually find hope in. A few months ago I was ready to end my life but God has instead restored it. It is a scary thing, sometimes, to be so public about it, but I do it so God can use it to encourage other guys (and gals) to open up and talk about it. After all, we are only as sick as our secrets.

Thanks Tam – and all who will take the time to read and comment – your support means more to me than you’ll ever know.

Nothing describes the moment we realize the chains are no longer holding us … yet we are hold onto them.

And the very next moment when He strengthens us to let go of our chains… wow.

I love how GOd is using the blog world to encourage believers! The enemy traps us and then makes us feel alone, and as if we are the only one who fall to his schemes…God is too awesome to allow us to stay in those ruts…There is victory where there is testimony, and God never lets go! Hallelujah!!! I am giving God some GLORY! Praise!! Adoration!!! Great things HE is doing not just done! YAY!!!! GOD!

Totally blown away by this post. This hits so close to home and it really is a struggle that not many will admit to. Thanks Rick for being so honest and Tam for posting the link.

Thank You Jesus for Rick and his courage and honesty!!!

    Rick,

How awesome it is your victory.. I kept reading your post’s, after the one linked above. Tears of Joy came when I read the one about you in the bathroom and your daughter outside the door. Joy for the fact that you allowed God to help you overcome such a powerful addiction, and that you are still here to post about this victory. Plus the encouragement you will now be able to give so many.

    God is so Awesome.

ckroboth – the post of his daughter on the other side of the bathroom door wrecked me! All i could do was praise God over and over for speaking through that little child!

here’s that post for anyone who wants to read it. and you should.

    God is awesome….

Thank you God, for deliverance … for some, spontaneous, for others, at the laying on of hands and through ministry, and for others, through a process of healing.

    ALL GOD!
    AMEN!!!!!!

I shall be linking to these posts on my church Facebook page.
