Go the extra mile. It’s never crowded

Never ruin an apology with an excuse – Kimberly Johnson

Exhilaration is that feeling you get just after a great idea hits you, and just before you realize what’s wrong with it – Unknown

If you are not criticized, you may not be doing much

“Bloggers ate people too.” That one is deep! 🙂

Ok, but seriously though, those are some great quotes.

    I have always liked:

““Love is not blind; it is an extra eye, which shows us what is most worthy of regard.” J.M. Barrie (author of Peter Pan)

I love quotes too, but I have to look them up online because of my poor memory.

In reference to that last quote though, if you are not criticized perhaps you are too much of a people pleaser. Yep, that would be me.

And because I love CS Lewis quotes, here’s one about the value of myths.

“The Value of myth is that it takes all the things you know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity.”

    Love that Kimberly Johnson quote.

One of my faves is “God gives His best to those who leave the choice to Him.”

    One of NorEaster’s quotes,

“What a child doesn’t receive, he can seldom give later.”
    ~P.D. James

might just go along with your Kimberly Johnson quote too, don’t you think ?? (“actions speak louder than words”, parents)

My favorite ‘life quote’ is :

“It is better to keep your mouth shut and have men think you a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt.”

I think it might have been said by Abraham Lincoln, but he probably got it from one of the Proverbs (can’t find the exact one now, but something similar is in there somewhere =).

    “Anything mentionable is manageable.”

    Beth Moore quotes…
” Faith that remains unchallenged, ordinarily remains unchanged.”
” All excess is rooted in emptiness.”
” If you have a need greater than Jesus dying on the cross, then He’s not your guy.”

” Concepts create idols, only wonder grasps anything.”
    – Gregory of Nyssa

“Faith without works is like a song you can’t sing.”
    -RICH MULLINS (Screen Door)

” You teach people how to treat you.” –

” Its not what people think about us that bothers us, its what we think people think.”- Kit Worthington:)

” Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. And when you stumble, keep faith. And when you’re knocked down, get right back up. And never listen to anyone that says you can’t and shouldn’t go on.” – Hillary Clinton

” Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of
    the prison were shaken. At
once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose.”

” Be anxious not for anything, but in everything by prayer petition and thanksgiving, let all your requests be known to God, and the peace of God that transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.”
    Phillipian 4:2-7

    And some I wrote:)

    – The people we treasure most in our lives are never far from reach, they stay close to our hearts always just like the blood flowing through our veins; without them apart of us would not survive or possibly ever exist.

This world is crying out for something to believe in that isn’t temporary, and faith definitely isn’t. Faith is a living, and breathing thing, it moves, and it moves in you, it takes hold of everything you’ve ever known, and gives you a fresh perspective. Faith is there at the hardest times, and even the best. It gives a daily assurance that it’s okay not to be perfect, or the same as everyonelse. ~Angie Sarich

” You must let go of childish wisdom, and look inside your soul, for the wisdom that is buried deep within you, For there, is where you are strong, because your strength comes from what you already know. Hold it close.” ~God

    Okay that’s all for now:)

This is from an Apple campaign about 7 years ago. It is one of the most inspirational pieces I’ve read.

You can go to this post to see the video too.

    Here’s to the crazy ones.
    The misfits.
    The rebels.
    The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
    They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
    Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some see them as the crazy ones,
    We see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think
    they can change the world,
    Are the ones who do.

    (read that last sentence again)

“If you want something that you’ve never had you’ve got to do something that you’ve never done.”

“Excuses makes you an object of wrath. Apology makes you an object of mercy.”

“Don’t seek what your heroes have, seek what your heroes are seeking.”

“He cares more about our character than our comfort.”

The unexamined life is not worth living. ~Socrates

I usually quote scripture – does that count?

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ~Paul

Come unto me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. ~Jesus

  19. June 21, 2008 4:00 pm

Ummm I am drawing a blank except for scripture so that’s what you’ll get! Plus Michelle started it so blame her if it doesn’t count 😉 hehehe

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all its righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

For I am confident of this very thing that He who begun a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Old things have passed away, behold, ALL things have become new.

Cast your cares upon Him for He cares for you.

I could go on and on but I don’t want to take Nor’s limelight 😉 Love you!

I heard this prayer quoted last year and it gives me chills when I read it…it was given by the late minister Dr. D.E. King, at a minister’s conference in 1979:

“We have come to turn ourselves in. We have been running from Thee and we know you have a warrant out for our arrest. Arrest us; lock us up, that we may be free.”

  24. June 21, 2008 5:07 pm

I am reading the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and before each chapter it has a quote. One that sticks out is…

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

I always put things off, so this quote really fits me…

If it can be done, it will be done, is shall be done tomorrow.
