Reasons like these are why I so agree with the message of prosperity. When principles of biblical stewardship are applied only good thing can come of abundance.

we’re all guilty. Not thinking about the $$$ we drop at the local restaurant, fast food joint, or…er…Starbucks.

It’s truly sinful how little money it actually takes to feed someone in a 3rd world country – or provide drinking water – and it can come from all of us so easily. It’s usually no more than a $1/day.

There are many places to give, like Compassion International; here’s a few more:

Local food banks are hurting all over the country because many grocery chains are giving away their old food anymore; now they are selling it to a secondary market. There’s probably a shelter or a food closet right in your own town.

yeah Anne’s post hits me hard as well. Something we’ve started doing is eating only rice on Fridays. (actually tonight we ate rice and carrots.) The point is to be a remind us of how blessed we are and to be thankful. So far I’ve only felt guilt – but I feel thankfulness around the corner.

Billy – I hope you take the money you save on Friday’s and send it somewhere…
Most places are only asking for $20-30/month. It easily fits into a budget, and you have my personal permission to skim it off your tithe…God will understand.

Her post hit me hard also. I’ve been thinking about having our family eat rice once a week as a reminder. We will be starting that tonight. Rice for Thursday nights!
