HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! You guys are too cute together! 28, huh? for the first time??? LOL @ 35, you can totally say you’re 25 not including weekends, and @ 49, you’re 35 not including weekends…just for future reference 🙂

If I could change ONE thing in the world, no one would go hungry. There’s a ton of other things I’d change too, but it breaks my heart everytime I hear about a child going hungry…and dying because of it. Imagine how many people would be saved

  2. November 14, 2008 2:42 am

you two are so sweet together. i love that you did this.

my favorite part was the homestar-runner-esque “it’s dot com!” segment.

    happy birthday, tam.

    FUNNY
    FUNNY

And sweet and serious all at the same time.

Hey tam, Happy Birthday! Bonne Anniversaire aussi!

First and foremost, YES… Soul 2 Soul, the song was Back to life, Back to Reality. Great song, weak band.

Second, yes you two look cute together.

Third, I really dig what you guys are doing here. This weekend I will be announcing a new intiative here in Paris that we will be taking on called “Giving the Gift of Giving” (Donner le Don de Donner en français.) The idea is simple, we will be giving two identical gifts to individual homeless people in Paris. The gifts will be given with an accompanying scripture and instructions that the second gift is to be given to someone else. The idea here is to give seed to the sower, to give the pleasure of giving to the less fortunate, and then to watch the Godly principles of multiplication take over. Of course there will be more to read about it at my blog, but for now this is the FIRST public mention of this initiative. Considering the theme of the post, it just seemed appropriate to break the news here.

Obviously we could use your prayers here, and anyone that wants to join us in their own home towns or anywhere is certainly welcome.

Much love to you guys, you and your family are always in my prayers! Be blessed, and (of course) have a wonderful and amazing birthday. – Mocha

  6. November 14, 2008 5:21 am

Mama said we were going to charge something huge for your birthday, but – after your speech, she said we had better not. We love your heart – we also sponsor a child. We are also planning on helping a family in our church who we know – he is blind and both are unable to work and are struggling on disability. This is the season for giving!! God bless and have a happy birthday Tam !!

    These organizations are AWESOME.

This year we are giving to Colonnia orphanage in Mexico. Instead of clothes and blankets, they have asked us for something more heart wrenching.

Bags of rice and beans… Many young children even younger than my little man are hungry… They have clothes but no food.

So we are having a rice and bean drive. 🙂

Happy Birthday Tam…. You are amazing!!

  10. November 14, 2008 6:48 am

    Wonderful stuff you two! 🙂

What could i possibly give you that you haven’t got already??

Besides a little sunshine and warmth and a sandy beach??

Happy Birthday Tam – Hope you have a Ball 🙂

    (A beach ball that is!)

    love

World Vision actually publishes a Christmas Gift Catalog. We got ours this week. It contains dozens of gift giving opportunities in a variety of price ranges. Check it out:

Tam-maybe you should issue a challenge to get all your blogger friends to contribute enough to purchase a fresh water well (it’s one of the bigger ticket items). If 180 people gave $100 that is enough to buy a well…just a thought.

  12. November 14, 2008 7:15 am

    Oh, Happy Birthday btw!

  13. November 14, 2008 7:33 am

Happy birthday, my dear. Look at it this way…I’ll always be 45 days older than you.

    Always.

  14. November 14, 2008 7:48 am

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA (deep breath) HAHAHHAHAHAHHAhA
You are both so cute!!! yes B you are cute, but I am only saying that once in a while..you know big heads and all!!!

Ilove your idea to help others over the holiday…I have been on this too..so great minds think alike!

Soooo mmmmmwhat should I send you????

to answer the question…I would change how hard it is to adopt a child from a third world country for just an average american…and then bring a bunch home! 🙂

  15. November 14, 2008 7:55 am

I would either own a plane it cost no money to fly (and a pilot’s license, of course), or a lifetime’s supply of free (or paid) plane tickets. Basically – Free and easy travel to anyone anywhere in the world I wanted any time I wanted.

Does that count? Should we subsidize airfare? I mean … not that …. I’m just being selfish. But … in my make-believe land, I would do that.

  16. November 14, 2008 8:08 am

You’ll hear from far closer friends today, but…I think you’re wonderful, and authentic, and beautiful, so thanks for sharing your life with the world. I’m glad you were born.

    Happy Birthday.

  24. November 14, 2008 9:12 am

    Happy birthday!

  25. November 14, 2008 9:38 am

    Happy Birthday Tam.

1 thing I would change: I would lift the ban on streaming video at the office.

And, yes you two look cute together. I know this even without streaming video.

  26. November 14, 2008 9:43 am

    Happy Birthday Tam!!!!

Your plea has definitely resonated in me. God has been laying ‘giving’ on my heart for quite awhile. Of course, my income has just taken a HUGE turn for the worse, so I know the tugging MUST be God. 😉

We are participating in Operation Christmas Child this year:
    http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/index/

I will also speak to my children and (make) urge them to join me and donate $5, of their own money, to Soles4Souls.

I am also praying about adopting a child through World Vision. I have always wanted to. We’ll see what God has in store.

If I could change one thing about the world:

Nobody would be cold or hungry. Everybody deserves a warm place to live and a meal in their tummy.

  30. November 14, 2008 11:11 am

Happy Birthday Tam!!! Hope you have a FABULOUS day!! 🙂

  31. November 14, 2008 11:16 am

i am totally copying you by doing this next week on my birthday. i guess it isn’t technically “copying” if i was already thinking about doing something similar. woot woot! hooray for giving.

you two are too cute. i think the fire in the background really helps.

  32. November 14, 2008 11:19 am

Look at you, getting younger by the minute! 😉 My favorite part of the video: after you nail Brent for scratching his nose… you totally scratch yours and then try not to crack up.

I LITERALLY pointed at the screen and called you out. Could you hear me laughing??? 🙂

I love Soles4Souls. I wrote about them on Wednesday of this week and think it’s great because it’s something affordable… and can be done in someone’s name for a Secret Santa gift at work or other little gifts for the holidays. I would love to do Compassion but can’t afford it… putting shoes on someone’s feet? I can manage $5.

Hope you have a beautiful day… and don’t forget that I’ll always be younger. 🙂

    What? 😯 Who said that?

Oh, right… the younger chick trapped in the body of an 83-year-old. Maybe I’m not one to talk. 😆

  33. November 14, 2008 12:02 pm

    @gitz – hahaha. I saw that too!

  34. November 14, 2008 12:15 pm

The look on Tam’s face as the fade out ends.. Is the same look she was giving Koda in her old avatar pic….HAHA…

Very nicely played you two…. Peace and love

*HAPPY BIRTHDAY!* I hope it’s AWESOME!

Happy Birthday to the BOTH of you!!!

I loved the vlog. My favorite part was near the beginning when Tam did the ole “snort laugh”!!

Well as a gift to you and us we continue the adoption process of our “new kids” a four and six year old brother and sister.

Additionally we are doing… I think five shoe boxes for the “Operation Christmas Child”. These are shoe box sized boxes filled with things for children that get distributed to third world countries during this time of year.

So really… which anniversary of your 28th birthday is this? 🙂

  41. November 14, 2008 3:55 pm

hey all! im still going strong. havent died of old age yet.

enjoying my day…gettin ready to leave in a couple hours to see our fave local band – that’ll be a perfect ending to a perfect day.

thanks again for all your love! its been an incredible day!

and for those who keep asking…im 38 😕

  42. November 14, 2008 4:19 pm

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAM!!! 🙂

Some words of wisdom passed down from generation to generation in my family.

    1. You are only as old as the man you feel…

    2. Act your shoe size, not your age…

    3. The reason we get older is so that we can drink more on our birthday with each passing year…

    4. If music is the food of love, eat as much as you like on your birthday…

In closing, while you are out at your favourite band tonight, have the bartender make you and Brent a B52. It tastes like chocolate ice cream, except it’s a little more lethal.

    Enjoy!

  43. November 14, 2008 4:24 pm

OK, before watching the video I was going to give you a “get hammered and have a happy birthday” comment. But that would sound stupid now. You and Vinnie have never looked better–as far as I know. And you look great for 42! 😉

  45. November 14, 2008 5:46 pm

You two are too cute for words.

Hope your bday night is a blast. Enjoy the anniversary of the day of your birth. Whatever.

Happy Birthday, Miss Tam! My mom told me that yesterday was your birthday, so I wanted to say hi.

Mom says we will watch the video and see if there is something that we can give to for your birthday. I don’t really get it but mom said it’s ok.

Did you have cake for your birthday? I like cake. I like ice cream too. My favorite is chocolate. What is your favorite ice cream? I want to have cake but mom said it’s too early in the morning.

    Bye Miss Tam!
