Punched him in the Majito and kept on driving.

  2. December 6, 2008 11:25 am

    LOL @ Kristi
This is tough… I think on the inside I would’ve prolly cursed him out all the while asking the Lord to forgive me but saying he should understand…
I would’ve prolly started screaming saying my labor pains were getting worse (even if they weren’t) Yelling I’m not having my baby on the side of the highway and had my husband drive off…

  3. December 6, 2008 11:48 am

Did you catch that this happened in Boston? And did they mention that two other cops waved them on graciously before this dude pulled them over????
    Yeah.
    Rediculous.

  4. December 6, 2008 12:14 pm

i think i would’ve kept on driving to the hospital. once there the cop would clearly see the severity of the situation. if not – i would “cop” a squat on the officers driver seat and PRAY for my water to break πŸ˜€

  5. December 6, 2008 1:12 pm

    LOL @ tam and kristi.
yyyyyeah, i woulda kept on driving too.

  6. December 6, 2008 1:45 pm

I have my babies super quick, so I would have thrown my legs out of the car, handed him some rubber gloves & said I’ll pitch, you catch.

  7. December 6, 2008 2:08 pm

What would I have done… hmmm… well, after 4 children I would have remembered to use a condom.

  8. December 6, 2008 2:15 pm

I would have called 9-1-1. Wait… would that have worked?

  9. December 6, 2008 2:52 pm

LOL you all make me laugh

  10. December 6, 2008 3:02 pm

Considering my water broke in the car on the way to the hospital I would’ve said what you said Tam, squatted in his car…What a jerk, they love throwing their power around sometimes! I’ll remind my husband to drive slow and careful to hospital in Feb. I heard this just happened locally last too.

  12. December 6, 2008 3:24 pm

i saw that on CNN yesterday. it was so crazy.. and the fact he asked her to open her jacket. i would have been p’oed.

  13. December 6, 2008 5:12 pm

I would have stayed home and watched the football game and made mama drive herself. Our kids were born in the late 60’s, early 70’s – yes they had cars then! 😯 Hopefully mama and I Don’t have to worry about this – just a minute, someones at the door – it was Gabriel, I told him he had the wrong house.

in ‘my day’, policemen were trained AND had common sense and were polite enough to offer escorts to hospital in such cases rather than fill their ticket quotas for the week!

    Sign o’ the times πŸ™„

    um. i dunno.

but i like the lil boy you.

    its sweet.

not that the big boy you isnt. really.

  22. December 6, 2008 8:34 pm

If I had been that woman I wouldnt have let my husband pull over. πŸ˜†

Although I like Kristi’s idea better. hahaha!!

Seriously though, I wouldn’t have had much of a filter on my mouth I’m sure, and I would have asked to see what was under HIS shirt πŸ˜• (show you mine when you show me yours). I’m more annoyed that nothing is going to happen with the cop. It was completely out of line for him to ask to see her belly. Ridiculous! πŸ˜•

  23. December 7, 2008 7:19 am

Love: Tam might have her avatar setting to “gravatar” so our gravatars show up before our wordpress avatars… If the two aren’t the same, this could be causing your problem.
Or, well, Tam could just wanna make your life miserable this weekend. She’s ornery like that.

  24. December 7, 2008 7:38 am

I would have shown him flashed him my huge naked belly. I also would have increased the theatrics like if I was in pain I would have screamed.
The only thing about this story was she had her child five hours later, so she wasn’t in danger of delivering. But, maybe she had her heart set on an epidural and wasn’t prepared for enduring the pain. I don’t know but I am just noting she had enough time to get there it seems. I wonder what the policy is on this because if every person in a major city diverted from traffic during labor that could be an issue. Just a thought.

  25. December 7, 2008 1:01 pm

I probably would have told Hubs to let me drive, and I would have run the cop all the way to the hospital…I am one crazy woman when ready to deliver a baby..and I am not having one in the car.. ticket me later.. πŸ™„

  26. December 7, 2008 3:46 pm

Maybe babies come so fast, he’d have to be ready to deliver. 😯

  27. December 7, 2008 4:45 pm

    That made no sense!! πŸ‘Ώ

    My** babies come…

  28. December 7, 2008 4:57 pm

chelle – thats funny, cuz i actually read it as “my” to begin with.

    arent we a pair?!

  29. December 7, 2008 5:54 pm

    Hi, Tam.

Just wanted you to know…I am not some sort of purple flower anymore.

In fact, I kind of threw it away.

    πŸ˜›

  31. December 7, 2008 9:01 pm

well. in all honesty…i do like this avi better. mostly cause michelle created it!

    welcome back, nor πŸ˜‰

  32. December 7, 2008 9:30 pm

I’m too lazy to log in to get my pic up….btw…love the snow!

Yeah, k, see, this happened in Massachusetts. It’s not surprising to me in the least. I mean, I think the cop knew she was pregnant, and my guess is he wanted her to get to the point where she couldn’t wait to have the baby and then he would have been a hero cop for delivering a baby on the highway. See, in Massachusetts, their arrogant like that. They want their 15 min of fame. Too bad for this cop it’s all bad. Did I mention that I hate Massachusetts? ….oh sorry….

  33. December 7, 2008 9:31 pm

how’d that happen? I’m not even logged in!! Oh well…i’m just tired…and blond….hehehe

  34. December 8, 2008 7:14 am

Tsk, clearly she should have left sooner and then they wouldn’t have been speeding. Honestly!

  35. December 8, 2008 6:46 pm

My husband & I have been discussing this story all week and have been disgusted at that cop’s behavior. I’m sorry I’d have dialed 911 and told them that a cop (badge #) wouldn’t let us get to the hospital and was endangering mine and my unborn child’s life. Then I would have filed a huge report and alerted the media. What a jerk he is!

  36. December 8, 2008 6:49 pm

hoverfrog…sometimes women don’t know until last minute. In my case I was in labor and didn’t know as I couldn’t feel any pain or contractions under stage 4 of labor, which is right before the child is born. Thankfully in my case I happened to have just driven myself to the hospital for a check-up, where my OBGYN politely told me I was having a baby and to get my hiney up to the maternity ward.

However if I’d had been at home, my huband and I could have easily been in this couple’s shoes — speeding to the hospital.

  37. December 9, 2008 6:04 am

He he, I was attempting humour Blessed1, I should know better that it doesn’t work so well in written form. My second daughter was born in 30 minutes, contractions to [pop] birth. Luckily we lived only minutes from the hospital so it was no chore for us. We booked the twins in early though.

hov – that dagammit british humo(u)r gets us every time πŸ˜‰
