QUESTIONS

im serious about the skin looking all frantic suddenly when you hit a certain age. so tell me, what do you all do to take care of your skin? not just your face. do you use body lotion every day? once a week? not at all? do you tan? use sunscreen?

and on a more serious note. does that porn statistic surprise you at all?

F1RST! <–People like that are uhhh, pointless. Good thing we don’t have any trolls over here =)

“daughter just saw @inworship laying across bed in underwear and asks me, β€œmom, how can you not hate that?” ahahahahahahahaha!!!” <—I seriously lolled at that, i’m sure one day she’ll understand.

Can’t help ya with the skin question…the porn stat doesn’t surprise me at all, its the sad state of the world that we’re living in.

How do you do the whole “my week at twitter” thing?

  2. February 21, 2009 5:51 am

Skin…I’m metro…so I do use moisturiser and sunscreen if I’m out (but nearly everyone does use sunscreen in Australia). It works I think, most people don’t ever get close to guessing my real age…

Porn stat…unfortunately, that doesn’t surprise me at all. Saddened, but not surprised. Sigh.

  3. February 21, 2009 7:07 am

I’m metro but I’ve never used lotion in my life. Maybe I should start. I hate sunscreen too.

  4. February 21, 2009 8:24 am

I don’t do anything for my skin. Occasionally if it feels dry I put lotion on. I like wrinkles so I don’t worry too much about that. I don’t like sun spots so I try my best to wear sunscreen during the summer. I know I probably should do it in the winter, but I just can’t bear it.

As for the porn statistic I guess I am not so surprised, but it still is shocking. It is such a huge battle. I saw that teens spend more time on the internet than anywhere else and that makes me wonder how much they are on porn sites. It is just too bad it really robs people when they think they are getting something. It is death to so many things.

  5. February 21, 2009 10:48 am

I don’t really do much of anything for my skin. Lotion if necessary, but most lotions make me feel dirty.

The porn statistic doesn’t surprise me at all. Just this week, one of my professors asked if Playgirl Magazine still existed, and several girls yelled out “YES!!!” It made me sad for them.

ARBONNE!!! It costs about what you’d pay for Lancomme, but it’s SO good. They have an Re9 line that is geared toward the effects of aging. They even have a supplement you can take! I’m telling you, other people will notice and comment!

A full set of the Re9 was 300 last time I bought one, but there are ways to get it cheaper. If it’s too much moisture for you, it’s good to use a couple of products from the line and supplement with products from Arbonne’s other lines. The eye cream and face lift are AMAZING. If you don’t have a consultant there, lemme know and I’ll help you get the hookup. No, I don’t sell it, but my family doctor left her practice to sell it–that’s how much she believed in this product!

By ‘other people’ I didn’t mean strangers, I meant those get close enough to you to see any fine lines or puffy eyes you might get from time to time.

Porn statistic: sad. That stuff has a grip on its victims that is very hard for them to get out of. I should devote daily prayer to those who are affected by it.

Anita is so right about the Arbonne. My sister started selling it a little over a year ago, and when she started she gave me the anti-aging kit ($300) just for fun. Obviously I’m not buying any more just because of the expense, but HOLY COW it makes a difference. I will say, if you use it right it does last an incredibly long time. The night creme didn’t last long, and was the most expensive (and worth it) product. But the cleanser lasted me a full year. (I only wash my face in the morning, not at night. Bad habit, I know.) I’ve already been replacing the moisturizer and stuff with other brands, but I’m going to keep buying their cleanser. It’s too good not to get.

And YES body lotion every day. YES YES YES

@Pete: most normal body moisturizers that you get to use after the shower have options that have an SPF included, so if you don’t like to put on sunscreen you’ve at least started with a bit at the start of the day. My sister has had repeated malignant melanoma and it is REALLY important to have an SPF on your skin. *here ends the public service announcement*

Well I find myself at the 5th entry in my series of websites that are amazing yet do not have the web 2.0 aesthetic. I like many other designers have fallen to the addictive properties of http://cm.loading-dvd.com/export/export-titles.php which has allowed me to find such an amazing set of sites and share them here with you.

my elbows have turned into sandpaper overnight. I’m horrified. 😯

and the porn….. oh yeah. not surprising. at all. *sigh*

Since I live in Cali. Sunscreen (Banana Republic) is a must. I’m going to be 43 this year and I am getting crows feet, any suggestions??

That stat on Porn… frankly, its not surprising and very non- discriminating too.
    :ugh:

  12. February 21, 2009 8:23 pm

Definitely sunblock on my face everyday. If I’m going to be out in the sun exercising, the beach, etc., then I use sunblock spf30 on everything exposed. And a hat and sunglasses. I’ve gotten way too much sun over the years and wrinkles aren’t pretty.

I agree that Arbonne is very good but, SUPER EXPENSIVE! And I ask myself, “isn’t my face worth it?”. Of course, I want to believe it is, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s SUPER EXPENSIVE.

I have a lot of redness in my face and Eucerin makes a few products for redness relief. I’ve been using this until I can decide if I want to reorder Arbonne. Also I use Eucerin daily replenishing body lotion everywhere on my body everyday. Hate the feeling of no lotion and cannot go without.

I haven’t hit “that age” yet where my skin goes all wonky… I’m still in pre-pubescent break-out stage – hoping this too shall pass (sooner than later). So, yeah, I don’t really do anything to keep my face behaving. I wash it…? And try not to pick at it…? That’s about it.

As for porn? Yeah. Surprising. Unfortunate and surprising, all at the same time.

  14. February 22, 2009 5:52 am

Not surprised in the least – i just need to take a look in my spam mail for all the viagra suppliers and (not so much these days thankfully) ‘free’ offers at ‘certain’ websites to know what a massive business it is and always has been. But it does remind me of this… πŸ™‚

We’re inclined not to trust the Chinese for one very simple reason…

Any country with a population of 1.25 billion who claims it’s favourite indoor pass-time is Ping Pong will lie about other things too! πŸ˜‰

I never moisturise, but am blessed with the naturally ageless and child-like skin i was born into… of course – there is a lot more of it than there used to be 😯

    Yeah, i know – it’s a curse πŸ™‚

The term “porn” isn’t very descriptive. Are they talking X rated movies & magazines only? Some super conservative Christian groups considering certain advertising as pornographic material as well.

If they are talking X rated movies & nude magazine…That statistics is very surprising. That’s a lot of money. And you know, wherever your money goes…that’s where your heart is & vice versa.

  16. February 22, 2009 2:07 pm

nothing really surprises me anymore..sounds kind of cynical..but I really believe Jesus is coming back soon.

just wanted to stop and make time to say..LOVE YOU..PRAYING FOR YOU..MISS YOU!!!!

  17. February 22, 2009 9:22 pm

I am CRACKING UP at the dudes who said “I’m metro….” πŸ˜† heehee

  18. February 24, 2009 6:51 pm

Hey – I’m so glad you suck at laundry. And I mean that in the nicest possible way. It means I’m not alone in the world. Someone understands!!!!
