i never thought…

September 13, 2009

i never thought i would grow to dislike birthdays. not yours. just mine. dont get me wrong…i like gifts πŸ˜‰ just not the whole aging process.

i’ll be 39 soon. how young are you?

i never thought i would call someone “ma’am”. now, i do all the time. and its mandys fault. it always made me feel old to be called ma’am. so, i never addressed another woman with ma’am because of that reason. but now…theres something so calming about that word. so respectful. i love using it.

never say never. what word do you love using?

i never thought one of my internet friends would ever visit me. in the last 14 months we have had nearly 20 friends from the net stay in our home. some, multiple times. they are now considered family. now…two of our net-friends have moved here. mark and cathi stegall drove into southern oregon from cleveland, ohio tonight!!! i keep pinching myself. its beyond my minds ability to wrap around this reality. we have several more that need to get here for good too!

anything can happen. who would you love to have in your home from the net?

how about you? finish the sentence –

i never thought….

i’ve been ‘perfected’ exactly seven times now.

i am starting over again at 1.

    it’s ALWAYS Miss Mandy’s Fault! πŸ˜‰

i love to use the word ‘love’, love. love, love. (<=== That makes sense if you read it right!)

i never thought… that i really Needed all of the things i 'wanted'.

i still don't think that some of the things i wanted are, or would have been, all that good for me.

not sure my ADD can handle the multiple questions, but i’ll try πŸ˜€

I am 36 years YOUNG and feel every year of it

I never thought I would say….”BOY, if I have to stop this car…..”

Net friends I’d have in my home…..well, the Hodge Lodge would rank up near the top…..maybe @joshuawhite to sponge up some of his photog skeels…and I’m sure he’d love to hold our 8 week old :-)…..The clayville clan would, i’m sure, be a riot…and, of course, @crucialencountr, @tattood1, @bradgross, @shawnw and @longyear would always be welcome

Oh and another I never……I NEVER thought I would be at home with 3 kids while my wife was in the Army….still hard to believe AS I live it

      oops….can’t forget @pokinatcha….really though….couldn’t forget her cuz she wouldn’t let me :-)….kidding Sarah….r welcome N E time!!

I’m uh, 25. Although next year I’ll be 26 and apparently that’s me out of the ‘Young persons’ range for cheap travel etc. Oh well.

Word I love using….PANTS! (has to be said with an exclamation mark)

Who would i love in my home…well…having a home again would be a good start first so I could have people to stay. Pretty much everyone I’ve mentioned on my ‘Brunette Koala In Real Life Tour’ would be welcome. I’d love to show people Scotland (just bring your raincoat, wooly jumpers and wellies!)…

I never thought I’d ever believe in Jesus being the Son of God. Just goes to show, doesn’t it?

dang woman. this is like a game of 20 questions. am i supposed to answer all those plus finish the sentence?

    hmm…

    1. i am 25. and i have never hated a number so much before. 30 looks glorious from here.

    2. i love using the word effing. i know, not as cute and comforting as yours (though i do use that word all the time). but effing never fails to get a giggle out of me. it’s like, the cuss word that starts with the letter e.

    3. i would love to have several of you’s guys come visit me. but i have a strong feeling that very, very few people in this blogger community (or any community for that matter) would suddenly have a reason to come to middle-of-nowhere, texas. oh wait. ME! reason number all-you’d-ever-need. πŸ˜‰

    and lastly….

    4. i never thought i’d be 25 and still not a mommy….AND still not quite ready to be a mommy. sister needsta get wit it. later.

  6. September 14, 2009 7:17 am

Ok, Miss Tammy. I’ve heard you complain about your age for a couple of years now… You ARE NOT OLD! In fact you look GREAT and I wouldn’t have thought you were going to be 39 except that you have teenaged kids!

A number is just that… a number and in terms of eternity… age is nothing!

    BTW… I’m 44 πŸ˜‰

  7. September 14, 2009 7:21 am

But don’t call me Ma’am… that’ my mom not me! πŸ˜†

  8. September 14, 2009 8:13 am

I never thought I’d be a grown up, married with a child. Going through what I did as a young teenager, I suffered with a lot of ripple effects – you know my history. I know I don’t need to share it here. BUT because of that, I never thought I’d live past 18. Now I’m 37 – over twice the age I thought I’d be gone at.

God is so good and amazing to have taken me from that scared little girl, to being a wife and mom. Now I’m facing some little unsure medical things coming up, and I know I’m going to survive them and be a healthy woman for years to come.

    Miss you Tam!

*wistfully looking back towards age 25….* I remember….. *sigh* πŸ˜†

    I’m 31 … things aren’t too bad at this age… but there’s always the “I wish I had…”

    That being said –

“I NEVER thought I’d be married and have children … I was the odd one out in school, the ‘ugly duckling’, the one who couldn’t get a girlfriend… I told a girl I liked her once and she RAN OFF…. quite literally *sniff, sniff* *composure* – *ahem*

I even learned to wash and cook before I got married coz I never thought I’d get married!

But now I’m 8 years on and my boys are growing up so fast! Just yesterday I brought them home – and now they’re all of 4 and 2 years old…. WOW….

Who would I have home??????? You and family, of course! And Darla and Scott – and Annie…. AND my good friends Jennifer from Tennessee and Jennifer from South Africa! … and Love and David and Renee and…… *gasping for breath* Whadaya know…. I LOVE PEOPLE!!!!!

I NEVER thought I’d be living in Hawaii, have 7 kids or that I would have adopted 3 of them.
I’m 43 years young soon to be married 21 years!

I never enjoyed being called Mrs. ****** until 2 years ago. I introduced myself to a couple of men who were emailing my daughter that way. It felt so powering! They were in the Bible College that had just started @ our church. Now, it’s been changed to Mrs. L and I LOVE it. Now, I love to hear potential suitors for my daughters call me that!

My house is crazy, chaotic & full. Not sure who’d wanna hang with that if they came here. I know for sure I’d love to hang with @Pastor_T & his family.

    1. I’m 20 and I already don’t like birthdays. I just don’t like being the center of attention. Wish me a happy birthday and let’s move on.

    2. I love using “silhouette.” It doesn’t happen often, but that’s what makes it more fun to use.

    3. Any of my internet friends are welcome!

I never thought…I would want to call anywhere else but California my home. But I’m ready for something new.

being super sick I’m not feeling too witty…. but just had to tell you that Jake is going to be 30 this year and he is FREAKING OUT and I think it’s hilarious! πŸ˜† I’m mean.

    • September 14, 2009 6:12 pm

You’re very mean Muffin, but i want you to get better soon – ok? πŸ˜‰

P.S. you were supposed to tell us YOUR age, not Jake’s πŸ˜€

i’ll take a wild stab and guess you have not had your 30th yet huh? πŸ˜‰

    I am 40…midlife crisising it!

There are many many words I love using but some of my favorites are…seriously? fugly (I know it is a horrible word but it is wonderfully descriptive..ok, you can edit me now), playahatin (just kidding), stink…there are many more but you get where I am going here.

From the web I would like to actually meet you (Tam, we all want to meet you πŸ™‚ ), Mo (love what she is doing in TA), Love (my favorite across the pond political gabber), Joy (seems like a cool cat and has a music background which is my old world). OK, my list will keep going cause there are a ton I want to meet. Did just get the chance to hook up with Brad Ruggles when I was in Indy…really cool guy.

and finally after a long essay…

I never thought I would be a good husband or father. I am far too short attention span.

  14. September 14, 2009 6:14 pm

Kids can teach you a LOT about developing Focus and paying attention to what they are doing, where they are, what the time is ( when they have not come home yet) – all sorts of good things like that πŸ™‚

God Gives us what we need most. πŸ˜‰

That’s a whole lotta questions, Tam!

    1. I am 27-and-3/4.
    2. I love the word tumultuous. The state of affairs, not so much, but the word… yes.
    3. I would love to have my friend Rachel visit me. She is adorbs. Also if your house flooded you guys could totally stay with me, if it was okay with my roomies.
    4. I never thought I would make it to almost 28 and still be alone and childless. (I also never thought I would pierce my nose, but HEY-OH!)

  17. September 21, 2009 2:14 am
