pimp my post

October 15, 2009

it just occurred to me that this should be called “pimp YOUR post”, shouldnt it? im confused.

either way…if you would be so kind to leave a link to your favorite post this week, i would really like that. i love reading them (although, just barely reading thru last weeks) and i know others enjoy your posts as well!

so…tonight (friday night), my kids have a concert. its so hard for me to try to describe to you exactly who they are musically. i wish so desperately you all could be here to hear them for yourselves. my words could never do them justice. hopefully, we’ll get some good video of them.

and saturday…my son, kota, turns 13.

šŸ˜•

yes. i have two teenagers now. yesterday i was barely 27. what happened!?!?!

thanks to cathi stegall, we are celebrating kotas birthday every weekend for the month of october. why, you ask? because cathi has instituted birth month. and i love her to pieces for it! as does kota šŸ˜‰

do you remember your 13th birthday? do you like celebrating your birthday? some people say they dont. i think theyre liars. yah. i said it. when is your birthday?

Now, I’m seriously trying so hard to think of my 13th birthday…and they’re all just jumbled in my head. Hmmm. Anyway, my birthday is December 18th—best month ever šŸ™‚

I always wondered why it was called “Pimp My Post”… but anyway. I don’t remember my 13th birthday. Maybe that’s because birthdays have never been THAT big of a deal in my family. However, I’m turning 21 in less than a month, November 8th!

Well. I’m a dad now. After a long long week, Gemma is home safe with mamma bear and me.

I wrote a rather scattered post on it.

    13???????????? ummmmmm….. No…..

No, I’m not a liar. šŸ˜‰ My birthday is June 8th, but it’s usually a normal day for me. When I was going to school, my birthday ALWAYS landed at the beginning of exam time. ALWAYS. So I never really got to enjoy my birthday….

    Well, onto my post….

I realized that there’s a LOT of people searching for God on the internet. The Internet – the final missionary frontier…. to boldly go where no missionary has gone before…. (hey wait, I’m thinking of Star Trek….)

Anyway, let it sink in – and let’s see what God will do with it!

Since you asked the question about birthdays, I’m going to cheat and link to a post I did three months ago. The fact is I am a little confused about when my birthday actually is, so I needed some advice.

    Peace and love everyone.

13th Birthday.. Ummm no… My birthday comes and goes every year without much fan fare. That is fine by me. Tell me Happy Birthday and move on. June 17th, 1971 I brought into this crazy world.

      sigh.

i can never leave a comment at your place.

      so…here it is.

“i can not imagine doing anything in life alone. i think the trinity is such a great picture of community and wonder if/when in that triune moment of creating the world the “three” of them were having a convo like…

“ok…is it not so cool that we get to hang out with each other aaalll the time? we should totally make something of this so others can experience it too!”

yah, i know…God is SO not from the Valley…but you get my point šŸ˜‰ either way…im very grateful he created us for fellowship. without that innate need i wouldnt have sought Him or others in my life. how lonely i would be.

“We have to have the right people in our lives to lean on so we can resist temptation in the first place, but also to be called into account when we step out of line. ”

      yes and yes!”

No sure why you have issues. I know the Blog software I use has problems with Safari. If you have Firefox try that.

If you leave a comment it goes into moderation.

The web provider I am on does not support wordpress. The blog software I use doesn’t have good spam filtering so I have to moderate every comment.

I hope to be switching to a new provider soon.

Thanks for taking time to read. Peace and love sis.

I celebrated my thirty-nineteenth birthday last Sunday, so I’m too old to remember 13, but I’m sure it was a big deal. Best thing about birthdays back then, no chores for the day!

I remember my 13th. I just had to do the math in my head though :/ We all went to the skating rink. It was my first (of 2) party that was successful growing up. Since my birthday falls during the holidays (December 30), it’s always been quite a trick to get my friends together.

I actually don’t really like celebrating my birthday in a big way. Just a nice dinner and hanging out with family and friends at home is all I really need.

This year is an exception though. We’re leaving the day after Christmas for NYC for my 21st/New Years šŸ˜€
