hockey, ice dancing and milking cows

February 21, 2010

ive never watched a hockey game before in my life.

until sunday night. canada vs usa.

wow! i am definitely hooked. that is some intense stuff.

i found it rather funny after having watched 30 minutes of players crashing into each other, shoving and brutally pushing one another into the wall with force that would shatter every bone in my body; that they would stop the game for tripping.

😕

up until that moment i had no idea there were even rules in this game. total definition of chaos. loved it!

and now we’re on to ice dancing. not our favorite. but curling has become a slight interest. its more like a fascination. similar to witnessing a butterfly exit its cocoon. only not as pretty.

anyhoo…if you could add a “sporting” event to the olympics – what would it be?

mine? oreo eating contest.

yup. that simple. only you have to eat them without the use of your hands and take the cookie apart to eat the frosting first. the advanced round would include retrieving milk from a cow to go with the oreos. also, without the use of your hands.

what.

ok. youre next. what sport would you add?

Golf. On ski’s. And I’d keep the ball white. I might concider being nice and make it beep or something if you whistle.

    • February 21, 2010 8:56 pm

beep if you whistle? THAT is hilarious!

Diaper changing…..blindfolded……with nose pins……ya never know what you’re gonna get..

    • February 21, 2010 8:59 pm

yes! and that should be a mans sport only. what do ya think? 😉

      • February 21, 2010 9:02 pm

Well we might have to allow women in so I wouldn’t win GOLD every year…..cuz, well, I AM quite gifted in the area. Oh and in this sport, you don’t wanna win the “bronze” medal 😀

I know New Zealand have long been pushing for sheep shearing. 😀

As an office worker (most of the time), I think paper toss should be added. I’m great on the iPhone, less so in real life…

    • February 22, 2010 6:02 pm

i love the paper toss app. the best thing about it, imo, is the background noise.

    Team hide-and-seek.

New Olympic Record, 6 hours. Well done to Farah Hussein for burying himself in the long jump pit.

Poetry slamming might be cool. Or sleeping. I probably could compete in either one of those. The latter would at least make Curling appear more interesting.

    • February 22, 2010 6:03 pm

but, really, what is it about curling? and how on earth did they come up with that sport?

actually, if i really cared id google it. but im not gonna.

  6. February 22, 2010 6:17 am

    ha, you crack me up.
i’m SUCH a hockey fan. i love the violent nature. is that bad??

and i’m with you on the ice dancing. makes me wonder why they don’t just add ball room dancing to the summer olympics. it’s essentially the same thing, minus the ice and skates…

olympic event: vocalizing. points are scored on creativity, range (high and low), and longevity of phrase in one breath.

    omg, i’m a nerd…

    • February 22, 2010 6:04 pm

are all your canned goods in your cupboard facing label side out???

      • February 22, 2010 6:16 pm

i choose not to respond to this question.
i also choose not to inform you that they are categorized by food type.
        you will never know this.

I was like: “Oreo eating competition? Cool”.

And then, you dropped the challenge. No hands and eat the white part. Now that’s a sport I can support.

Also, I’m not a big fan sports, as you may already know, but I went to a hockey game last year and it was awesome! The fighting was the best!

    • February 22, 2010 6:04 pm

the fighting was all i could focus on. how does anyone follow the puck?

      • February 26, 2010 2:56 pm

**insert rude joke using the term puck here***

        Haha!

  8. February 22, 2010 8:45 am

I have this “lovely” image of milking a cow without hands. Thanks so much Tam.

Would it be cheating to say “baseball” since the Olympics removed it because the US was winning all the time?

    • February 22, 2010 6:08 pm

ugh. i am not of fan of baseball. dunno why. except that i find it painfully boring to watch. id rather watch a monkey sleep.

    • February 22, 2010 6:08 pm

girl…you should be on the olympics planning committee!!

  11. February 24, 2010 7:55 am

WHAT!?! U have never seen hockey before??? I definitely know you are not from Michigan, or you would be banned from the hockey state of the US. lol

I am missing the Olympics. They don’t show any of it here, as Israel has 3 people there and 2 of them are couple skaters. haha!

    • February 25, 2010 4:55 am

Becareful Tam…Mo is a Wings Fan…she will try to sway you 🙂

  12. February 24, 2010 6:02 pm

NEVER SEEN HOCKEY!!!! OMG! OK, this is probably a bit of an over reaction but I am the biggest fan of the game.

Here is the deal…next time you are in Nashville during the season, I will take you and your hubby to an NHL game. We have season tix and will let you see it live. If you liked it on TV you will love it live.
