thematical: part 2

March 30, 2010

here are some more of mandy’s ‘fabulous’ thematic ideas.

part 2 – GO.

favorite state of mind, being and of the union – who do you know? – parenthood – photography – dreams

favorite state of mind: has to be when im optimistic and energetic. i mean, id much rather be that than the opposite.

favorite sate of being: moments with my family. sitting around the dinner table. laughing. creating together. dreaming together. i guess..togetherness with those i love.

favorite state of the union: as much as i talk about TN…i must confess that california is my favorite. but only the southern section, and on the beach. mmm, yes. take me there now.

who do you know?: no one. i cant say i really know anyone. i decided to look up the word ‘know’ and its definitions are all related to oneself. i can know myself but i cant really know someone else quite the same. i could name drop a few people i know, but thats just tacky. however, one of the definitions was ‘to have sexual intercourse with’…and, well…i do know one person.

one theme i dont write about consistently here is one of parenthood. its not that i dont enjoy parenting. i have two of the most fabulous kiddos in the known world. but i find i get a little too passionate and opinionated about parenting. i really have to watch my tone and words. and its not because i think i have it all figured out…cause i so very well do not. i just “know” (relating to oneself 😉 )what has worked for me in the common sense department and i see, all too often, common sense and a little hard work and investment, just thrown out the window. then parents sit there, scratching their heads, wondering where and when it all fell apart.

moving on…

ever since i got my iphone, ive loved to take pictures. and so has kass, my soon to be 16 year old 😯 daughter. she is a natural at it. kass has a fantastic eye for placement, aesthetics, textures and feel in photography. our dear friend joshua white has helped kass in immeasurable ways with her photography. and because of his investment and belief in her, her passion for it has grown immensely.

here are some ok kassidi’s favorites…

and in this video, that some of you may remember, youll find a ton of kass’s photos. brent took the ones in/from the jetboat.

i dont dream a lot. well, i dont seem to recall many of my dreams. so i researched to maybe find an answer. i found a couple of possibilites. one of which im not too happy about…or sure of.

1) im just not paying attention. dreams take little to no concentration. they just, sort of, happen.

2) im not good at tasks involving visual imagination. wha???

3) i could have lesions on specific parts of my brain 😯

sometimes…google search bar is a no-no.

friend, if nashville had a beach, it would be perfect.

Ever since I was little I’ve always hated California…. probably because of some supressed memories involving my deadbeat. 😕 Oregon is my favorite I would have to say…. although not necessarily the RV. 😉 However, I just read a news article the other day that involved Oregon and my first thought was “ugh, that’s embarrassing!” Hmm, I wonder what it was now? Dang.

Maybe Kass would want to come to the coast with us and take some family pics for us?? huh? huh? ;-)By that point she could drive herself! 😯

I found your bit on parenting quite hilarious…. I think more people need a swift kick of common sense. 😉

oh girl…oregon is turning into quite a piece of work. the state is passing, cuz the people are voting, the craziest things that are ruining opportunities here. like the business tax. once that passed – small businesses starting closing their doors, left and right, like they were trying to keeping roseanne barr out! the word around town is…if you wanta start a successful oregon business…move to idaho.

Actually, yes… we do like Idaho. Whenever we drive through there we talk about moving there one day. We’d like to get stationed there really…. even though that base is more middle of nowhere than where we are now. 😆 I keep hearing that Idaho is a super affordable place to live too. Can’t be that. My only complaint about Idaho is…no coast. 😕

so I just googled Oregon to see if I could find that story I was reading (can’t) but I found it funny that Brent was on the first page of results. haha!

    • March 31, 2010 9:57 am

really? where? i cant find him.

      • March 31, 2010 3:34 pm

at the bottom. Did it not show up for you? It was his twitter page. 😆

where’s the Iowa love? I mean, we don’t have oceans and stuff, but MAN the ice storms are fun. Or, you know, not.
