    • October 28, 2009 10:19 pm

      irony makes me smile.

i always wanted to write a book

but never have because i don’t know where to start

    • October 28, 2009 10:19 pm

      ooo, speaking my language!

      what would you write about?

      • October 29, 2009 8:49 am

see…therein lies a problem. how do you even begin to decide what to write about? what would YOU write about?

        • October 29, 2009 8:53 am

something about your life. maybe a fiction story for kids. have you had an unusual experience that you can embellish on? maybe a personal testimony. perhaps even just a collection of thoughts through the years, pieces of wisdom, lessons, advice, humor that have gotten you to where you are today.

the possibilities are endless. which, in part, adds to the difficulty, eh? 😉

          • October 29, 2009 8:30 pm

um…yea…thanks a lot for helping me narrow that down! ha

    whaaa? Awesome! Mine is similar!

I always wanted to write a book

but never have because I worry I’m not a good enough writer for anyone to want to read it.

    • October 28, 2009 10:53 pm

      really?

ok. i always say the same thing and everyone always tells me….thats what an editor is for. but then….that shakes me up even more. i mean, unless you live in nashville and know all the right people….how does one get a publisher.

i know. that was a bit of an exaggeration. but im wonky right now with brent snoring at levels that would rival roseanne barrs annoying, stab me in the ear with a plastic fork, laugh.

First of all, you are so funny! I hope you got some sleep last night!

And I’m too much of a perfectionist with these kinds of things that I think I’m too worried to even send something to an editor! I feel like I have thoughts and things to write in my book, but don’t know how I can make it glow or put it all in order.
But hey, I’m still young… There’s still time to build my confidence in that. I guess I just need to start somewhere. Which I guess leaves me at “I don’t know where to start.”

        hmmmmm

  4. October 28, 2009 11:13 pm

    … build a rocketship
    … i don’t know how

      • October 29, 2009 9:07 am

i read your comment and remembered one of my teachers responses to me after telling her my travel around the world dreams… “just go to a library dear. everything you wish to see is right there.”

      😕
      seriously.

i dont think so. i want the hands on version. the smells, the sounds, the tastes, the touch.

      • October 29, 2009 11:19 am

LOL!! 😀 Oh my gosh I read this and I was like I probably would’ve looked at the teacher like she was insane lol! Yeah books can only take you so far, like you I want the sounds, smells, tastes, touches and actual human interaction from someone with a completely and utterly different world from mine. Teachers…….lol

That librarian story reminds me… When we travel to Britain a few years back, we took the tour of Buckingham Palace. Patti and I were every so slowly, walking down the long hallway (where like 10 of my houses would have fit) pausing to look at each painting of each Royal Family for like the last 2000 years. So some of those paintings were a little old. Our 14 year old son has seen ENOUGH. He’s leaning up again the wall at the end wait not so patiently for us to slumber down the hallway. After what must have seem to him like EONS, he runs back to me and says:

OMG DAD! YOU CAN SEE ALL OF THIS ON THE INTERNET!!

  9. October 29, 2009 1:17 am

    ..be patient.
    ..I don’t have the time.

  10. October 29, 2009 4:44 am

    …because I suck at it.

That’s why I play the drums.

    • October 29, 2009 9:12 am

i marvel at guitar players. especially the ones who can just pick it up and learn on their own. remarkable!

    ….Sing, sing, sing!!!

….I have the worst voice on the planet! (so this one time at church, my friends asked me to sing lower because I was distracting them from worship. Sad).

    • October 29, 2009 9:15 am

ive heard you sing. i love your voice – i hear your heart!

    • October 29, 2009 3:47 pm

You can look at it this way, God gave you both your voice and your joy for singing so He must think it’s beautiful, right? 🙂

I’ve always wanted to be best friends with Sandra Bullock, but never have because we’ve never met, she’s a bit older than me, she lives in another state, we don’t have much in common, and… well… she has a life.

    • October 29, 2009 9:18 am

honestly…i could see you two being friends. it would be dangerous i think.

and what difference does it make that shes older than you????

I’ve run into her multiple times! She lives by me and goes to the same Starbucks as me… But I’ve always been to scared to say hi. We just smile at each other. Baby steps? They call her “Sandy” when her drink is ready.

I alway wanted to be a surfer girl.
But never have because I live in the middle of the country.

    • October 29, 2009 1:21 pm

its over rated. and hurts. especially when youre trying to look cool, riding in a wave and you bite it right at the shore and your face meets the sand with much vigor and all your sunkissed skin gets scraped clear off.

      not that id know.

      😕

      • October 29, 2009 8:46 pm

or your arm gets eaten off and it ruins your surfboard.

I’m still going to try it though….

        • October 29, 2009 8:54 pm

do it. do it. and make sure you video it too!

  23. October 29, 2009 12:56 pm

        She should (several)

        • October 29, 2009 5:44 pm

I love that you think that. Thanks, girlie.

      • October 29, 2009 5:43 pm

I don’t know. I think I’ve always felt more in the “supporter” role rather than the one in the spotlight with the book… I encourage people to write their stories and follow their hearts… I truly believe in the potential of people. I guess my “story” is just my regular life so it’s hard for me to imagine there is that much to say. I could sum up my whole book by saying, “I believe. I trust. I choose joy. The end.” Well, maybe with a few ridiculous stories thrown in for good measure 🙂

I did write a children’s book once, though.

        • October 29, 2009 8:34 pm

‘scuse me??? did you just say that you wrote a children’s book? did i know this? what is it, where can i get it?

and sara…your book about you, your life, your joy…it would be a BEST SELLER!!

  24. October 30, 2009 11:54 am
