I loved dissecting cats in Advanced Biology in high school. That sounds so sick but I found it totally interesting. I actually started out as a biology major in college.

  2. October 23, 2008 4:02 pm

CATS!!! seriously. all we got were frogs. but, cats??? i dunno if i could cut open one of those.

i did run over a cat with my car last year on Halloween night. yes, its true. and….

    it was black!!!

  3. October 23, 2008 4:02 pm

    and red.

  4. October 23, 2008 4:03 pm

    and smeared all over.

  5. October 23, 2008 4:08 pm

Oh my word, that should NOT be as funny as it is. Did you ever think maybe that’s why you have a string of bad luck with jury duty?

Or are black cats a bad omen and dead black cats are a good omen?

[I’m not going to lie… it took me about 30 seconds to be able to think of “oh my word” because I have a bad habit of saying “oh my h*ll” and I didn’t want to swear on your blog.]

  6. October 23, 2008 4:09 pm

Why is it that I can laugh at a dead cat but I couldn’t laugh at a dead dog?

  7. October 23, 2008 4:11 pm

What’s one surprising thing about YOU? Other than the fact that you kill cats with your car?

  8. October 23, 2008 4:18 pm

    hell.

    k. just wanted to get that out there.

one surprising thing about me? i wanted to be a lawyer OR a cosmetologist when i was a little girl. go figure 😕

  9. October 23, 2008 4:39 pm

Makes sense. Then you could defend yourself if someone sued you over a bad dye job.

When I was little I thought I was going to be a nun with 9 kids. Work that one out in your head.

  10. October 23, 2008 4:45 pm

i read that last night on your blog and HAD to share it with brent! that is just…odd girl!

and whats with the ladies and their dogs strewn about my sidebar 😉

  11. October 23, 2008 4:50 pm

I tried out for cheerleading in 8th grade actually thinking I could make it. Didn’t. Missed by 1 pt. Scarred for life. Joined band.

  12. October 23, 2008 4:51 pm

And I remember the cat incident last year. Now I love cats but still…hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I’m laughing at the irony not the grossness.

  13. October 23, 2008 4:52 pm

Okay, I’ve never dissected a cat, or ran one over with my car, but dirty carpet will just about make me break out in to hives! I have to live in a house where my main daily pathway doesn’t require walking on carpet…..weird I know, serious OCD issue going on there!

  14. October 23, 2008 4:52 pm

    did you enjoy band, joni?

and i know…that incident last year really was funny!

  15. October 23, 2008 4:52 pm

I had tubes in my ears 7 different times as a little girl.

sarah she still owes me a haircut!!

  17. October 23, 2008 4:54 pm

emily – ME. TOO!!! i cant stand dirty carpet! if i see a spot i will be on it faster than you can blink and i wont let up til the spot is gone. i am SO with you on this! but i think we have a serious problem.

    suprising??

I received three “coach” bags for my birthday. I asked what do I do with these??

  19. October 23, 2008 4:56 pm

julie – wow. that stinks. thats a lot! how are your ears now??

heidi – haircut? what? when did this happen? where was i? i want one? huh?

  20. October 23, 2008 4:57 pm

heidi – seriously. what is the big thing about coach? i guess im not a name brand person. is it better than all the others or just more moola?

    October 23, 2008 5:00 pm

Just before I was going to throw them away, my sister kindly reminded me that each one is worth 300-400 dollars. Who in the heck would keep their wallet in a 300- 400 “coach” bag!! I don’t even carry a purse.

  22. October 23, 2008 5:01 pm

Just asking for prayer from anyone who has a moment – request posted at my blog. Thanks!

  23. October 23, 2008 5:03 pm

Heidi… one coach bag for me, one for you, one for Tam. Problem solved 🙂

Tam and Emily… you wouldn’t last in my house. I can’t push a vacuum anymore so it only gets done every other week when my cleaning lady comes. It took me awhile to deal with that. If I had money I’d have hardwood floors in my condo with some rugs for that very reason.

  24. October 23, 2008 5:03 pm

Surprising thing about me – I have a stainless steel rod along side 14 vertebrae in my back to correct scoliosis and have two scars – one the whole length of my back and the other 9″ – oh and my surgeon did a great job making two really straight lines.

  25. October 23, 2008 5:05 pm

Tam, my ears are fine now – no hearing loss, despite all the scarring and having my eardrums rupture. It all stopped once I had my tonsils out, actually.

  26. October 23, 2008 5:05 pm

Robin… praying for you and the baby. Rest.

Sara, today, I gave them away to a struggling woman who needs them much more than I do. She’s currently trying to get back in the workforce and I thought they would make her feel more complete…. she smiled and cried.

  28. October 23, 2008 5:11 pm

heidi – that is SO funny!!! i dont think my whole wardrobe cost that much.

sara – im sure its something youd have to let go. so…i would just do some rug painting. have you ever seen that done? people have actually taken paint and made designs on carpet. it looked great but i dont know how it felt on bare feet.

robin – you are such a trooper! wow. amazing girl!

  29. October 23, 2008 5:12 pm

I would run around my house singing oh-so-sultry Phil Collins’ song, “IIII can’t dance, IIII can’t sing, all I dfjnsdkfjnsdkfjns…. However it goes.” That was the first full song I learned, oddly enough.
And he doesn’t know how to read music- He plays by ear.
    I play by ear.

    Coincidence? Oh no. Fate.
I was born to love the musings of Phil Collins.

Or maybe I could sing it because the melody had about six notes in it.
    Who knows.

  30. October 23, 2008 5:14 pm

Aww, Heidi… I just love your heart. I did that with my cute business suits when I stopped working. Getting myself physically ready always helped me feel more mentally ready for a challenge… I hope it does for the woman you helped, too.

  31. October 23, 2008 5:15 pm

robin – for some reason i cant leave a comment at your place. just wanted to say i am so thrilled at how far youve come already. you’ll make it through long enough for that baby to be healthy. i know youve been told a million times already to rest, but….REST!!

  32. October 23, 2008 5:16 pm

becca – i am cracking up at you!!!! i love how you spelled out what you didnt know! oh my cow! thats good!

  33. October 23, 2008 5:17 pm

ok. im off to our church volunteer appreciation dinner. for those of you who twitter (ahem, sara!!!!) im sure brent and i will be posting pics 😉

  34. October 23, 2008 5:17 pm

Tam… I think paint on my carpet would gross me out more than dirt in my carpet. I like those new rugs/carpet where it’s a bunch of squares that fit together, so if you spill something you can lift a square out, wash it and put it back. That’s my dream carpet someday.

God, I need to get a life. I have dream carpet????

  35. October 23, 2008 5:18 pm

What if I get on Twitter and no one talks to me? I don’t think I could handle the rejection, Tam…

    😉

  37. October 23, 2008 5:32 pm

    Ok.. I will play.

I was academically suspended from college after 3 years. 😯

I did go back and finish though. Graduated when I was 30.

  38. October 23, 2008 5:37 pm

Good for you for going back CK!!!

  39. October 23, 2008 5:43 pm

  42. October 23, 2008 6:40 pm

    I want to be a rockstar…

  43. October 23, 2008 6:52 pm

Robin: yep. He’s the most spoiled Maltese on the planet. His name is Riley. I keep him as my avatar because he’s cuter than me. And I’m ok with that.

    K. Commercial’s over and Grey’s is back on. 🙂

  44. October 23, 2008 6:52 pm

I drink all the pickle juice out of the jar after I eat all the pickles. *pucker!!*

  45. October 23, 2008 7:53 pm

Um, something surprising about me? I can’t think of anything you wouldn’t know…. hmmmm……

I can bend my big toe over my second toe without using my hands. I just wrap it right over my second toe. Jake says that is weird all the time. Oh wait, you wanted surprising, not weird….

Surprising? Hmmm…. I wanted to by a high school history teacher. 😯 Serious.

  47. October 23, 2008 9:00 pm

I can touch my nose w/ my tongue.
I used to have pink hair.
    I hated my wedding dress.

    I could go on & on…

BTW – Coach bags are expensive, but they carry very nicely. I inherited a bunch from my Mom & hubs has bought me one. People actually DO put their wallet in them…their $200 wallet…

  53. October 24, 2008 7:00 am

I am so surpirsed that my pastor stole a Yamuka.

I am so surprised that you posted a gazillion blogs yesterday while I was absent.

I don’t think there is much surprising about me anymore. I appear to be an open book.

Thanks for stopping by my blog lately. I love sharing it with you.

  54. October 24, 2008 7:13 am

When I was in 7th grade, I wanted to be a cartoonist. Or an animal rights activist. (I am neither.)

I love to eat pimento cheese spread. I will eat it on bread. I will eat it on crackers. I will eat it on a spoon straight out of the carton.

And for these reasons, I cannot buy pimento cheese spread.

(Becca – I love that Phil Collins song! 🙂 )

  55. October 24, 2008 7:39 am

  56. October 24, 2008 7:44 am

  57. October 24, 2008 9:00 am

Oh Tam, you will LOVE this…. I can now burp with the best of them. Something about pregnancy brought that out in me. I burp louder and more often than Jake now. 😯 You’d be proud. 😆

I sip of a soda and I burp the rest of the day. Odd. So yeah, I burp now, so I can’t use that whole “croaking” thing. 😉 heehee

  58. October 24, 2008 1:38 pm

I agree Tam….the whole carpet thing drives my family NUTS! All I can say is hardwood floors and ceramic tile :)!

  70. October 25, 2008 12:07 pm

I was in a truck when a “gang” member I was with shot a gun in the air. He was trying to show that he was really a gang member and not a wannabe. So I guess you could say I hung with a gang a few times. AHHH! I know you will never think of me the same way now.
