are you still in???
January 24, 2009
earlier this month i was challenged by mandy to write two chapters a month for my book…which i still have yet to do this month. but I WILL.
upon sharing this challenge, several of you decided to join in.
i wanted to let you know that we are working on a little diddy to help us stay organized and focused this year as we strive to meet our goals. so be looking for it soon!
until then…is there anyone else who’d like to join in on the challenge?

I was stalking when all this kicked off, and it was everywhere (which makes sense, since I was stalking all the blogs of the contributors…)
But I wanna join in – I so wanna do something as rad as 100 songs in a year (!!!), but I think I’m gonna go with :
1 song per month, recorded and posted to my blog.
A bit boring maybe, but I guess there is not point to this unless it’s both achievable and something that would not be done without the accountability.
Still, I’m nervous…in a good way 🙂
NO. Still far, far too much to do.
“working on a little diddy”
Diddy? Wait… Am I supposed to be writing a song about this!?
yeah…
Still in – on schedule – almost! 😀 Doing good!
Yes maam, I am working feverishly.
Hey we still have worked out how to turn in our homework?
that’s supposed to say haven’t ( me and my typos)
I forgot to challenge myself :L. stupid me xD
I have succeeded in this:) Go me!- I know that Rachel is working on trying to meet her challenge too:) Slowly but surely, but in God’s timing:) that’s what matters most anyway:)
Hope you have a great one today…I already had my morning meeting at work 9am, and then I am going to the apt to clean the rest of it out, sometime tonight I’ll work on some school work….so yea, busy me:)
love you.
(P.S- if you have myspace, add MANDY’S song, ” Just a girl” she put it on there now yay!)
Oh…I am making progress on my plans to establish a clean reliable water source for my little orphanage in Zimbabwe. Must excitement going on in my little square inch of the world.
@david: That doesn’t sound a bit boring. I think being able to create one song in a lifetime is impressive, so one in a month is a great goal.
my goal of snuggling with the pup everyday is going great, thanks for asking. 😉
david – YAY! youre here! and thats a great challenge. i may have to add that one to mine as well. and welcome to the madness here 😉
nor – ok.
mandy – sure, why not?!
KA – 🙂
papa – on schedule, almost? sounds like me!
heidi – thats what we’re working on now…a way for us to check in. its coming!
gabriel – no, not stupid. never! heres a challenge for you….dont call yourself stupid. cuz stupid, you are not 😉
lsof – great job!!!
melissa – my heart is smiling! you rock!!!
gitz – i just spit out my drink. i love your goal!
I am still in!
In fact, I wrote a song after I joined and we played it today in church. It went great! Success!
I am in…
my goal is one hour a day researching and studying to put a study together. Oh now that I have written it out…i scared..i laugh in the face of danger/committment.
seriously i’m in
My goal is to read (leadership, management, business or ministry books) for a minimum of one hour a day. I’m still working on getting this planned and structured in my day.
Thanks for holding us accountable!
mark – way to go! can we hear it?
darla – yah. a goal in writing seems pretty final, eh? we’re all in it together. and you+writing a bible study=BIG success!
jenni – that would be hard for to structure in. some because of time, and natural daily interruptions. but mostly because my mind doesnt shut off. its hard for me to focus. but…maybe if i gave it more than 7 minutes it’d work!
Still recording instrumentation for it. Maybe I’ll get it done this week and give everyone a sneak peek.
mark – please do!
I’m still in, but not doing great. Accountability is a good thing.
I’m still in, and have yet to post my two January songs. I have until Saturday night! Don’t worry, I’ll do it!
Well, I don’t remember if I replied to the first post (probably not). I have no book or songs that I am working on… I have been working on getting healthy. Wgt loss would be great, but my focus is health. I started several months back, but stopped in Nov or Dec. So, it’s like a new challenge and something I need accountability in. Does that count?
If not then, um… well, I’ll think of something else if it’s not too late.
Hard to write 2 chapters when yur always blogging and tweeting about mindless things that don’t further the kingdom. How bout devoting an hour a day to singing lessons or finding a job to help support your family. Oh wait people with 9-5 can’t blog all the time. What was I thinking. – @inTherapy
TO Conway Twittey person:
Who exactly are you reffering to here on this blog? Obviously you read it if you know what goes on here. If you don’t agree with how someone lives their life, then just don’t enter it…its that simple!
if anyone cares to respond to twitty, please keep in mind what is expected here.
we can make a point w/out cutting people down.
Wow. @inBitterness
Ditto to Mark Thomas @inShock
@ConwayTwitty…speaking of building up the Kingdom…
Um wow!
What a dork CW is!
@ ConwayTwitty wow….that was so unnecessary!! I agree, if you don’t like what goes on here then just stay away!
If you are going to dog people on their blog, then you should at least have the balls to be yourself and not use a famous person’s name!
@Conway Twitty….
Those words stung and abrasive not only to the author but to her friends and family that call this home…
… for me INPROGRESS became a healing place. (from what you’ll never know!!!)
Why don’t you do this, start a wordpress account it’s free…
Leave my sister, girlfriend, and accountability partner alone!!!
Please!?!?!?!
Conway Twitty…Jesus loves you…and I really feel sorry for you. Do you even know @InProgress? That is a pretty harsh statement you just made…and you want to talk about her getting a job to “help support her family”?!??!?!?!?!?! Give me a break dude/dudet! Lets see what @InProgress does to “support” her family.
1.) Mother
2.) Wife
3.) House Keeper (Laundry, cleaning, organizing, making the house look fantastic!)
4.) Cook
5.) Confidant
6.) Tear wiper
7.) Best friend (To many people)
8.) Adopted mother (I have adopted her, in case you didn’t know that @inprogess ^_^ )
9.) Chauffeur
10.) Tutor (Those aren’t cheap!)
11.) Heart mender
12.) Pretty much the awesomest mom ever! (My mom is pretty cool too, but your up there!)
13.) Putting up with @InWorship
14.) Nurse (Kids get hurt, someone has to nurse them back to health!)
15.) Raising her children up to be honest upstanding kiddos who love the Lord with all their hearts and are two of the coolest kids you will ever meet!!!!!!!!
So @ConwayTwitty, I leave you with James 3:9-12, James is talking about the tongue.
9 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. 10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! 11 Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? 12 Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring.
@ConwayTwitty, I will pray for you, and ask God to bless your life and give you a peace of heart and that He will be able to help you come to terms with what ever it is that you have against @inprogress. Because she is one of the most amazing people I know.
God Bless you Conway Twitty
this is what happens when people work together at building a strong community. there is trust, support, love, encouragement and authenticity here. real people, living real lives. none of us professing to be perfect – but doing this thing together!
friends – i will come to your defense in a heartbeat too. but the bigger picture here is someone who is clearly unhappy. and the only satisfaction they can find in life is to tear others down, to build their self up. im not the first one cw has done this too, sadly, but true. so, it isnt personal…just a cry out for attention. and for some, negative attention is better than none at all.
what he needs is prayer. and i suppose we should leave it at that.
good day, cw.
Conway Twitty,
I will second everything @irock4jesus has just said. I was not a blogger myself until now, but to see one of my favorite people, a true woman after God’s heart, ripped has brought me into this. I will also pray for you and whatever is eating at you so much that it has brought you to this.
Tam is one of the most caring and compassionate people. She has an amazing story that has impacted many people on this blog, including me! It is a testament to God to see what he has done in her life and how he has blessed her. She deserves respect just as any other person in this world does.
Please if you do not like this blog feel free to leave, but please don’t post things that can hurt people. It is not rude and selfish.
If you have the time….. go check out Proverbs 12:16-23 specifically verse 18 which says,
“Reckless words pierce like a sword,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing. ”
Use the old rule many parents tell their kids…. If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all.
Or maybe the one…. count to ten before you speak to make sure that it is pleasing to the Lord
WOW. Props to Travis for the best comment here! 😉
Ditto all of that!
as far as the topic of this post….
I do believe my goal was to maybe shower everyday. 😆 😯
Which I totally forgot about until now. Dang it’s been awhile since then. Thats a long time to go without a shower.
Seriously though, I’m totally kidding. I’ve showered a few times since then. HA!!! 😆
I kid! I kid!
I may not read very much here. I also may not comment. You have done nothing to deserve that attack.
But…
Once again you handle yourself with Grace and Love. You do radiate Jesus’ love. My prayers are for Mr CW to read these comments and experience a softening of the heart. Maybe that was the purpose of the comment….to prove but yet again in his life that Christians are all talk and then mean. He didn’t find that here. What he found was people that requested that he not be mean to you and then stated that they would pray for him!! He found love and respect which he probably doesn’t know what to do with.
I believe that I will add him to my prayer list too! 🙂
Dear Mr. Twitty –
You obviously have plenty of time on your hands too to be well aware of how @inprogress spends her time. I don’t even know her, except for this blog and her twitter, and she has already been a blessing in my life.
Yes, you are entitled to your own opinion. But just keep it to yourself. @getyourownblog
I would like to know more about it Tam. Email me? I love you XO
